Basically, you want a good mid-range laptop. Not the bottom end Celeron/Turion with integrated graphics. It depends a lot upon what you can afford.
It's best to go with one that has an actual graphics chip (not "integrated graphics") and preferably it's own graphics RAM (not "shares main RAM"). Get 2 gigs of RAM.
If you're looking for actual models/prices, you can spend your own time doing that.

If you're going for gaming, the minimim spec's I'd recommend is a 2.0ghz core2duo and Nvidia 8600M-GT video card or better. My buddy picked up a Dell 15" Inspiron at outlet.dell.com for about $1000 even... talk about excellent deals.

If you live in europe i would recommend www.zepto.com.
Very good prices and they let you configure almost everything yourself.

That's hard to do for a laptop you want to play games on. You need a solid, dedicated GPU in it, not cheap integrated video hardware. If you have to skimp on something, do it elsewhere. If you really want to get a cheaper gaming machine, maybe consider a desktop?

lol I know about the graphics card. But I think you all are thinking that im looking for a gaming laptop. Thats not true I just want one that can run most games but it'll mainly be fore homework and stuff so it doesn't have to be one of those pro-gamers laptops

Yeah, but if you want to play GW, you will need a laptop with some gaming ability. Any laptop can do your homework.

That's why I mentioned www.delloutlet.com. The laptop that my co-worker got above was marked "Scratch and Dent" but looked absolutely brand new out of the box. System specs included a 2.0ghz Core2Duo AND NVidia 8600M-GT-256MB(discrete) video card. Good luck finding anything similar for $800 (that's the price he paid, then upgraded to 4-gigs. Total system price = $1000 USD).
The only caveat shopping on Dell's outlet site is that you must refresh their laptop inventory page every few minutes and quickly jump at the system that meets your needs. If you wait too long, someone else will probably get your intended laptop.

True. My bro got an HD one forgot most of the specs but it was pretty standard and runs most games like GW fine. And true that any laptop can do homework so I'm mainly focused on one that has a good graphics card and has a fast processor. I might try delloutlet but im not a big Dell fan and personally i prefer new and at a store

Dell outlet boxes marked "Scratch and Dent" are actually new units in damaged shipping boxes. Even if any cosmetic deformity is present on the new laptop, Dell can replace the scratched/dented laptop component with ease. Some units were pre-assembled orders which were later canceled. Yes, refurb units are sold there as well, but these are clearly marked as such.
I prefer ordering new myself, but if I can shave off 30% from a $3000.00+ USD laptop, then I'll probably take the plunge. However, the models I buy are usually bleeding edge (like the M1730), and these are not as readily available from the Dell Outlet (usually have to wait 6+ months before they show up in there).

just got one of those, works great. Haven't tried GW on it yet, but it runs Halo like a dream so i'm guessing it would easily run GW and other mmo's if thats what you are after.
